Community Safari Days

The Los Angeles Zoo is offering a special Community Safari Day to assist Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) students and their parents. Grab your backpack, lunch, and safari gear and join us at the Zoo for a fun-filled day of adventure. Our program will run rain or shine so bring your rain boots and make sure to dress for any kind of weather. Community Safari Days are from 9am-4pm with free extended care beginning at 8am and lasting until 5pm. Safari Days are open to students in grades K-5. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Full refunds will be offered if the program is cancelled due to changes in LAUSD, but will not otherwise be available.


Safari Day adventures, here is a list of things that you need to make sure you bring with you:

  • Comfortable Walking Shoes
  • Jacket or sweatshirt
  • Your imagination and a sense of adventure!

    • Remember this is an outdoor adventure where we spend all day in the Zoo so please pack light!
